LAWRENCE — This isn’t ancient history.
It was 2012 — the year of the last Summer Olympics and presidential election — when Kansas junior Kent Taylor was ranked as the nation's No. 1 high school tight end by Rivals.com.
“It was cool, but I found out real quick that it doesn’t matter once you get out of high school,” Taylor said. “It doesn’t matter how many stars you had. It doesn’t matter where you’re ranked, all that kind of stuff.”
Taylor’s past is still an important starting point when exploring the possibilities for his final two years at KU.
