Former Kansas basketball player Perry Ellis says he enjoyed returning to his college town Saturday where he signed autographs for an hour at a Hy-Vee on Clinton Parkway.
“It was cool, man,” Ellis said. “It’s been a little while since I’ve been back. Just coming back, it’s always a good feeling.”
Ellis’ basketball future remains uncertain. After getting only limited playing time for Dallas’ summer league team — he averaged 12.4 minutes in five games — the forward did not receive a contract offer.
“They liked me, but you can’t take everybody,” Ellis said.
