Former Kansas guard Brannen Greene was selected by the Delaware 87ers as the seventh overall pick in Sunday’s NBA Development League draft.
The team is based in Wilmington, Del., and is affiliated with the Philadelphia 76ers. The 6-foot-7 Greene, a native of Juliette, Ga., left KU after his junior year. He was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Former KU forward Perry Ellis and KU guard Wayne Selden did not have to go through Sunday’s six-round draft. They were designated “affiliate players” by NBA teams Charlotte and Memphis, respectively, after getting cut during the preseason.
Teams can designate up to four players that they cut for assignment to their D-League franchises.
