The Champions Classic — a college basketball doubleheader series featuring Kansas, Duke, Kentucky and Michigan State — has been extended through the 2019 season, ESPN announced Wednesday.
The United Center in Chicago (2017), Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis (2018) and Madison Square Garden in New York (2019) will host the three additional years. KU will face Duke in this year’s Champions Classic at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden.
The Jayhawks are 1-4 in the event since it began in 2011, picking up their only victory in 2013 against Duke in Chicago. KU will face Kentucky in 2017, Michigan State in 2018 and Duke in 2019.
