LAWRENCE — Kansas coach David Beaty wasn’t in the mood to give his players or coaching staff a free pass following the team’s 41-38 loss to South Dakota State on Saturday.
That included the final play of the game, as KU quarterback Montell Cozart fumbled the snap then went to a knee to pick the ball up — a move that kept the clock running and prevented the Jayhawks from attempting a 50-yard field goal to tie it.
Beaty was asked during Monday’s Big 12 teleconference if he believed the error was a result of the Jayhawks not taking many snaps outside of the shotgun formation.
