LAWRENCE — Mark Mangino gave David Beaty his first Power Five coaching gig.
For that, the current Kansas football head coach says he’s not sure he can ever show his proper gratitude — though he may not be alone in that respect.
“The things he did for this university,” Beaty said Friday, “I don’t know that I can ever be as grateful as I really should be, and probably a lot of us, for what he’s done for our program.”
KU announced Tuesday that Mangino would be inducted into the program’s Hall of Fame, alongside former players Aqib Talib and Anthony Collins as individual inductions and the Orange Bowl-winning squad from 2007 as a team induction.
