Cummings 'excited' for Kansas QB competition

LAWRENCE — To win the starting quarterback job at Kansas, there are a few things offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rob Likens is looking for.

Sure, he wants have a quarterback who can make plays with both his arm and his feet, but just as importantly he wants a quarterback who doesn’t make mistakes.

“At quarterback, the No. 1 thing at the end of the day is did you manage the game well,” Likens said Wednesday. “Because you could have 10 great plays, but you throw one pick-six and you’ve lost the game. So it’s all about managing the game.
