LAWRENCE — While weighing his transfer options this offseason, Charlie Moore got a sales pitch from a Kansas basketball icon.
Moore, who had just completed his freshman season at California, made contact with former KU guard and fellow Chicago native Sherron Collins.
The message was simple.
“He said Bill Self and the coaching staff were great guys,” Moore recalled Monday, “and he thought it would be good for me.”
Whether Collins’ pitch was the decisive one or not, the result is the same: Moore is a Jayhawk. Speaking to the media for the first time since arriving on campus, the 5-foot-11 guard said several aspects of KU piqued his interest.
