Kansas athletic director Sheahon Zenger will have monetary — and contractual — reasons to pay close attention to football in the coming years, according to details of his contract extension released by KU Athletics on Tuesday.
Zenger’s new three-year deal, which pays him a $700,000 base annually and runs through 2021, includes a $40,000 bonus for each season the football team finishes with at least a 6-6 regular-season record. The extension also stipulates that on July 1 of each year, Zenger will submit to the Chancellor performance objectives for the coming year that “include progress toward establishing a successful football program.
