Bob Davis, the voice of the Kansas Jayhawk football and men’s basketball teams for 32 seasons, announced Tuesday he will retire following the 2015-16 basketball season.
The Topeka West and Washburn graduate will call his final football game Saturday when Kansas plays host to Kansas State at 3 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.
“I’ve been really lucky to be the “Voice of the Jayhawks for 32 years,” Davis said. “It was a dream job for me when it happened.”
Davis, who also spent 16 years broadcasting Royals games on radio and television, began calling KU games in the fall of 1984.
