STILLWATER, Okla. — Given a few minutes to reflect after his team’s 86-67 loss to Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Kansas coach Bill Self admitted a harsh reality from his team’s previous two weeks.
“We’re not getting much out of our guards at all,” the 13th-year coach said.
Most of the focus has been on Frank Mason. The junior point guard, who had been KU’s most consistent performer most of the season, has seen his production drop off in his last four games — a stretch when he’s made 6 of 20 shots inside the arc.
Though Mason hasn’t appeared to have the same explosiveness recently, he said Tuesday that he was only slightly bothered by a leg injury.
