DeAndre Ayton (Phoenix, AZ), the top overall prospect in the 2017 class, included the Kansas Jayhawks in his list of nine finalists late last month, and even said KU was an early favorite (along with Duke and Kentucky).
Now, Jayhawks fans have even more reason to feel confident about their chances to land him.
Ayton told 247sports that he only plans to visit three schools this summer - Arizona, Kentucky and Kansas. He refused to say those were his top three, though it appears to be clear that Kansas and Kentucky are his top two.
However, Ayton may not end up playing college basketball at all. A native of the Bahamas, some feel that Ayton will play a year overseas before entering the 2018 NBA Draft.
