The No. 1 overall basketball recruit in the country, Josh Jackson, is set to announce his college commitment tonight, and will be deciding between the Kansas Jayhawks, Michigan State and Arizona. He confirmed that he will post his decision on Twitter at 8:30 pm ET tonight.
Though Jackson hasn't officially made a decision, he has been saying for months that he already knows where he's going - he just hasn't made it public yet. Kansas has been widely speculated to be that team after he raved about his trip Allen Fieldhouse during the season and thinks he can follow former No. 1 recruit Andrew Wiggins' path through Lawrence to being the top pick in the NBA Draft.
However, the Jayhawks aren't the only team that appeals to Jackson. The Detroit native grew up rooting for Michigan State, and the Spartans already have one of the top recruiting classes in the country - two of whom (Miles Bridges, Cassius Winston) are close friends of his. Adding Jackson would make them a legitimate national championship contender.
Then there's Arizona, who's head coach (Sean Miller) coached Jackson on the U.S national team.
Kansas and head coach Bill Self has a proven track record with one-and-done players of Jackson's ability, and with Wayne Selden's departure for the NBA, he would step right in and fill a giant hole in their lineup.
Fans of all three teams will certainly be furiously refreshing Jackson's Twitter feed all night.
