The Rule 5 draft will take place tomorrow morning to conclude the Winter Meetings. The draft has been a way for teams to unearth hidden gems stuck in other organization, as the Royals did in 2007 when they plucked Joakim Soria from the Padres.
Who is eligible for the Rule 5 draft? College players drafted in 2013 or earlier and high school and international players signed in 2012 or earlier are eligible to be drafted. Drafted players must stay on the Major League roster for a full season or be offered back to their original team after clearing waivers.
