For the first time since 2015, the Wilmington Blue Rocks will compete in postseason play.
With a 4–3, walk-off win in 10 innings on Saturday vs. Fayetteville, Wilmington clinched the first half of the Carolina League North division and ensure a postseason spot. Blake Perkins, one of three players Kansas City acquired in the Kelvin Herrera trade last June, had the game-winning hit.
In search of their first Carolina League title since 1999, this Wilmington roster features several prospects who led the Class-A Lexington Legends to the South Atlantic League championship last season, including: Nick Pratto, MJ Melendez, Seuly Matias, Jackson Kowar and Daniel Lynch, among others.
