Tricia Freeman’s wedding day started out conventional enough.
She sat through hair and makeup, put her $2,200, fitted mermaid gown on and posed for pictures with her bridesmaids.
Then, about 1 p.m. Saturday, Freeman walked down the aisle of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 52nd Street and Troost Avenue toward her soon-to-be husband, Kyle Kovach.
The two said “I do” in a traditional Catholic ceremony, surrounded by friends and family.
Three hours later, the newlyweds walked down the steps of a party bus and through Gate D of Kauffman Stadium for Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.
