Yordano Ventura, backed by four Royals home runs, stifled Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers in route to a 12-1 win Wednesday night.
Ventura, who has given up just four earned runs in his last 32 innings, was dominant in his seven innings of work, striking out 11 while giving up just one run.
The Royals jumped on Tigers veteran Randy Wolf quickly, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the 1st on a Ben Zobrist home run.
Kansas City added two more in the 2nd inning on a Cheslor Cuthbert two-RBI single to make it 3-0.
