KANSAS CITY -- Asked on Sunday if right-hander Joe Blanton would still make his next scheduled start on Thursday, Royals manager Ned Yost shrugged his shoulders.
"We're looking at that," he said.
The alternative, of course, is to terminate right-hander Yordano Ventura's rehab assignment and activate him on Thursday.
Ventura is scheduled to make one more rehab start on Monday with Triple-A Omaha.
But Yost seemed to indicate that might not be necessary.
"He's ready," Yost said. "He's ready to go."
After two effective starts, Blanton has had two rough starts, the last coming on Saturday night in a 5-3 loss to the Twins when he gave up three runs in the first inning and four through five innings.
