I said before the game that I was excited to see what Cole Ragans could do against the pitiful Angels’ lineup. That was my first mistake, I suppose. It seems like every time I’ve gotten excited for a pitching matchup this year, it’s gone poorly. I guess I’ll just keep telling myself I’m not excited about tomorrow’s matchup at all.
Tonight started off well enough, Bobby Witt Jr. had a one-out, infield single in the first inning before Salvador Perez doubled him home. Unfortunately, things went sideways in the second. Ragans gave up what should have been a leadoff single in the second innings but MJ Melendez played it into a triple.
