Mark Gubicza held the Red Sox to five hits over 7 2/3 innings, and the Royals got just enough offense to eke out a 3-2 win over Boston at Fenway Park.
Gubicza, just two days before his 23rd birthday, struck out five and walked two. All five hits he allowed were singles as he improved to 9-6 on the season.
