The Royals have been one of the most active teams so far this off-season, bringing back pitcher Michael Wacha on a three-year, $51 million deal, and acquiring second baseman Jonathan India and outfielder Joey Wiemer from the Reds for pitcher Brady Singer. But the team is far from done. According to a recent report from The Athletic, the Royals would like to add more to the offense.
Per a team source briefed on Kansas City’s moves, the Royals plan to pursue a middle-of-the-order bat and are more likely to acquire that bat through a trade than free agency.
