Eric Hosmer strutted into the Royals clubhouse, beaming with pride. Dressed in a Captain America T-shirt and an American flag cap, with a gold medal hanging across his chest, his presence sparked an uproar from his Royals’ teammates, who he’d been apart from for nearly three weeks.
The 27-year-old first baseman, who has won a championship at nearly every level he’s played — from little league, to high school, summer ball, the Minor Leagues and the Major Leagues — returned to Surprise, Ariz.
