Michael Wacha signed up for a return to Kansas City quickly and at a cost that looked pretty much like what you would expect. His three years and $17 million in average annual value (AAV) was slightly under the crowdsourced median at Fangraphs at the same length but a bit more money. Now that we have seen quite a few other players signed, it looks like the market expectation undershot the dollars and years that it will take to sign a player this off-season, which might make the Wacha signing team-friendly relative to other free agents for 2025.
