BOSTON -- It is not supposed to be this easy. Royals rookie left-hander Matt Strahm burst onto the scene last month and has been nothing short of phenomenal since. Strahm entered Sunday night's game against the Red Sox with a 0.84 ERA in nine games.
And Strahm has been overpowering with a fastball that has ranged from 93-97 mph and a wipeout curve. He has struck out 19 of the 40 hitters he has faced, the best strikeout ratio (47.5 percent) of anyone in the Majors with a minimum of 40 hitters faced.
"He's just done a super job," Royals manager Ned Yost said.
