Kansas City improved to 4–2 this spring with a 3–1 win over Colorado on Thursday. And they did so without a hit with a runner in scoring position (0-for-3)— their runs came on Lorenzo Cain’s sacrifice fly and Eric Hosmer’s two-run home run in the fourth inning.
During the 2016 regular season, the Royals won just five games (out of 24) in which they went hitless with runners in scoring position.
