Lorenzo Cain had two walk-off RBI in 2016.
The first came on May 3 in a 7–6 win over the Nationals, a walk-off single to complete a three-run, ninth-inning comeback.
He also walked off the White Sox in Kansas City’s 3–2 win in 14 innings on Aug. 10, his fifth career walk-off RBI. The 14th-inning walk off was the latest in a game by a Royal since Nori Aoki’s 14th-inning walk off vs. Cleveland on July 24, 2014.
The two walk offs for Cain in 2016 marked the first time a Royal has recorded multiple walk-off RBI in the same season since Alex Gordon has three walk-off RBI in 2013.
