Bubba Starling put on a show in Kansas City’s 8–3 loss to Cleveland on Friday night. Not only did he extend his hitting streak to 10 games, and his on-base streak to 11, but he displayed stellar defense in center field too.
He recorded his second career outfield assist on an 8–2 double play to end the seventh inning, throwing out Francisco Lindor at home plate on a 100.7 mph throw. It was the highest velocity throw on an outfield assist in the Majors this season and the highest by a Royal in the Statcast Era (since 2015).
