Stat of the Day: Soler Sets Royals Single-Season Home Run Record

Jorge Soler hit his 39th home run of the season in Tuesday’s 6–5 walk-off win vs. Detroit, a three-run shot in the third inning. It broke a tie with Mike Moustakas (2017) for the Royals’ single-season franchise record.

The three-run homer marked his 100th RBI of the season, making him the first Royal to reach triple digits in RBI since Eric Hosmer had 104 RBI in 2016. He has an RBI in seven of his last 10 games and is on pace for 117, which would be most by a Royal since 2000, when Mike Sweeney set the club record with 144 and Jermaine Dye 118.
