The Royals recorded their third walk-off win of the season on Tuesday thanks to Ryan O’Hearn’s first career walk-off home run. O’Hearn, pinch hitting for Nick Dini, became just the second player to hit a pinch-hit, walk-off home run in Royals history, joining Pat Tabler, who hit a pinch-hit walk-off shot off Texas’ Kenny Rogers on Sept. 12, 1989.
In his last eight games, O’Hearn is batting .455/.586/1.045 (10-for-22) with four home runs and six RBI. In addition to Tuesday’s game winner, he also hit a game-winning home run in the 10th inning on Aug.
