Stat of the Day: Riding the Cain Train

After finishing third in the American League MVP voting in 2015, Lorenzo Cain missed 54 games due to injury in 2016 with a strained left hamstring (25 games from June 29-July 28) and inflammation in his left wrist (29 of the final 30 games of the season).

His absence from the Royals’ lineup could not be understated. When he was placed on the 15-day DL on June 28, Cain was tied for the Major League lead in game-winning RBI (10) and go-ahead RBI (16).
