Ryan O’Hearn completed his second big league season in 2019, establishing a career high with 14 home runs, two more than his 2018 total.
O’Hearn is the fourth Royal to record double-digit home runs in each of his first two Major League seasons, joining John Buck (2004–05), Alex Gordon (2007–08) and Eric Hosmer (2011–12).
He’s one of six players to debut since 2018 who has hit at least 12 homers in each of his first two seasons, joining Ronald Acuña Jr (2018 NL Rookie of the Year), Shohei Ohtani (2018 AL Rookie of the Year), Gleyber Torres, Juan Soto and Franmil Reyes.
