Stat of the Day: Mr. Zoombiya

Jarrod Dyson recorded 30 stolen bases in 2016, tied with Mike Trout and Jose Altuve for second most in the American League, trailing only Rajai Davis. He is now one of two players to record at least 30 steals in four of the last five seasons, joining Altuve.

Three of Dyson’s 30 steals in 2016 came as a pinch runner, a role he has thrived in since making his Major League debut with the Royals in 2010. His 37 career steals as a pinch runner are by far the most among active players and 18 more than teammate Terrance Gore (19), who is second.
