Stat of the Day: Monday’s Clutch Hits

The Royals snapped a nine-game losing streak in Monday’s 6–1 win over the White Sox, ending their longest losing streak since 2012 to win for the first time in 12 days (since April 19).

All six of their runs on Monday scored with two outs, including home runs by Jorge Bonifacio and Eric Hosmer, the first of which marked Kansas City’s first homer with a runner in scoring position this season.

Salvador Perez’s two-run single that bounced off the third-base bag in the fifth inning last night was also Kansas City’s first hit with the bases loaded this season (entered 0-for-5).
