Stat of the Day: Junis’ Complete Game

Jakob Junis recorded his first career complete game on 104 pitches in Tuesday’s 6–2 win over Detroit. It was the first 9-inning complete game by a Royal since Jason Vargas on June 2, 2017 vs. Cleveland. Jason Hammel threw 9.0 innings in a 10-inning Royals loss on April 20 at Detroit (Game 1), and Brad Keller threw an 8.0-inning complete game in a 1–0 loss in Seattle on July 1.
