The Royals hit five home runs in Saturday’s 7–2 win over the White Sox, matching a club record for homers hit in a game at Kauffman Stadium.
Three of the five home runs came in Kansas City’s five-run sixth inning, when they turned a 2–0 deficit into a 5–2 lead.
After Mike Pelfrey walked Lorenzo Cain to leadoff the sixth, White Sox reliever David Holmberg surrendered back-to-back home runs to Salvador Perez (two-run HR) and Mike Moustakas, marking the seventh time Kansas City has gone back-to-back this season (last, June 28 at Detroit, also Perez and Moustakas).
