The Royals drew 2,557,622 fans to Kauffman Stadium in 2016, the second-highest home attendance mark in franchise history, trailing only 2015’s total of 2,708,549. Prior to 2015, the Royals had not eclipsed 2 million fans since 1991.

Among American League teams, only Toronto (3,392,099), New York (3,063,405), Los Angeles (3,016,142), Boston (2,955,434) and Texas (2,710,402) drew more fans at home than Kansas City did in 2016.

The Royals averaged 31,576 fans per game in 2016, including seven home sellouts. They drew at least 30,000 on 53 of their 81 home dates (65.4%).
