Chris Young — a 12-year Major League veteran — earned his first career save on Aug. 14 at Minnesota, pitching the last 3.0 innings of an 11–4 win.
At 37 years, 81 days old, he became the oldest Royal to record a save since Roberto Hernandez (37 years, 312 days) in 2002.
According to Elias, Young also became the oldest Major League pitcher to record his first career save since Buddy Carlisle (37 years, 106 days) did it with the Mets on April 6, 2015.
