Flynn made two stints with Kansas City: his first from May 6–28, in which he allowed four earned runs in 7.1 innings (4.91 ERA). He returned to Triple-A Omaha for three starts, before being recalled by Kansas City on June 15, and remained with the Royals for the rest of the season.
