The Royals completed their first three-game sweep on Sunday since July 24–26, 2017 at Detroit, snapping a streak of 13 winless series (0–12–1) since their last win May 28–30 vs. Minnesota.
The win came thanks in large part to catcher Drew Butera, who hit a go-ahead, inside-the-park HR in the seventh inning. It was the first such HR by a Royal since Jarrod Dyson did it on July 8, 2015 vs. Tampa Bay.
