Drew Butera has had a busy offseason. After re-joining the Royals on a two-year deal in mid-November, Butera visited Fox 4 earlier this month to flex his muscles in meteorology.
The 33-year-old catcher is used to filling many different roles. Although he’s made 342 appearances at catcher during his seven-year career, Butera has also appeared at first base and designated hitter.
He’s also made five pitching appearances — including two with the Royals in 2016 — which are most among active position players in the Majors.
