Jorge Bonifacio homered in the sixth inning as part of a three-hit effort in Monday’s 5–3 win over Detroit in 12 innings. It was his third straight game with a homer, becoming the first Royals rookie, according to STATS LLC, to homer in three straight since Abraham Nunez in 2004.

Bonifacio’s 14 HR this season rank fourth among American League rookies, trailing only Aaron Judge (32), Matt Davidson (19) and Trey Mancini (15).
His 14 HR are most by a Royals rookie since Eric Hosmer hit 19 HR in 2011.
