Stat of the Day: A Unique Streak

The Royals won a season-high nine straight games from Aug. 14–23 on their way to cutting their deficit in the American League Central from 12.0 games to 5.5 — a 6.5-game swing — during the month of August.

During the nine-game winning streak, they had a four-game streak (Aug. 15–18) in which they allowed exactly one run — all on solo home runs. In doing so, they became the first team since at least 1913 to allow exactly one run — all solo HR — in four straight games (h/t Elias).
