The Kansas City Royals celebrated their 44th season at Kauffman Stadium in 2016. On Opening Day vs. the New York Mets, the Royals raised their second World Series championship banner in franchise history (also, 1985).
The Royals drew a record 2.7 million fans to Kauffman Stadium during the 2015 season, and followed that up with an attendance of 2.5 million in 2016, their second-best draw in franchise history.
