KANSAS CITY -- Royals reliever Joakim Soria told MLB.com that he has apologized to his teammates for comments he made after Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the A's.
Soria gave up the go-ahead two-run double in the eighth inning. After the game, Soria seemed to suggest the Royals probably should have been in a "no-doubles" prevent defense. Yonder Alonso's two-run double was a line drive over center fielder Jarrod Dyson's head.
But Soria said that comment simply didn't come out right.
"It was never my intention to throw anyone under the bus," Soria told MLB.
