BOSTON -- Jorge Soler belted a three-run home run in the 13th inning, and the Royals hung on for a 7-6 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.
Alex Gordon and Whit Merrifield delivered one-out singles, and Soler jumped on a 1-0 curveball from Brian Johnson and lifted it just over the Green Monster.
Left-hander Brian Flynn got the final two outs in the 13th for his first career save.
It took until May 1 for Royals closer Kelvin Herrera to give up a run.
