Quick—name your favorite moment in Olympic baseball history!
Yeah, I didn’t think so. I don’t have one, either.
Okay, maybe that’s not fair—maybe some of you have a favorite Olympic baseball moment. But I don’t. Heck, without looking it up, I couldn’t even say when the last time baseball occurred in the Olympics. I seem to have the vaguest of vague memories of Tommy Lasorda managing a team, but I’m guessing even that is a recording and something I didn’t see live. Then again, maybe it’s just my mind playing tricks on me and really that’s Lasorda during some random Dodgers game.
