Last night, I got a chance to take a look at Miguel Almonte, as he made his fourth appearance at Triple-A. The 22-year old Dominican righty hasn’t gotten as much attention from scouts as Kyle Zimmer or the recently-departed Sean Manaea, but he’s been a guy I’ve been a fan of for a while. I actually would have had Almonte above Manaea in my theoretical, and also completely made-up, prospect rankings.
Note: I’m not a professional scout, though I would play one on television, if asked to do so.
