Salvador Perez went hitless in Tuesday's night's All-Star Game presented by Mastercard at Nationals Park.
Perez, the lone representative for the Royals in the Midsummer Classic, logged two strikeouts and five innings behind the plate for the American League squad before being pulled in favor of the Indians' Yan Gomes.
In his first trip to the plate during the second inning, Perez battled National League starter Max Scherzer in a seven-pitch at-bat before striking out on a 78.3 mph curveball. He fouled off four pitches before being caught by the right-hander's offspeed stuff.
