Salvador Perez is an interesting hitter. On Saturday, he hit his 10th home run, giving him double-digit dingers in each of the last four seasons. He’s on pace to sail past his career-high of 17 homers from last year.
All of that power is obviously great, and an elite defensive catcher with more than 20 home runs usually garners some MVP attention at the end of the season. Of course, man can not win on dingers alone.
As you know, Perez swings at a lot of pitches overall, and he swings at a lot of pitches that are out of the strike zone.
