It’s official: The Royals are set to meet President Obama during a trip to the White House on July 21.
The long-awaited trip was announced by the White House on Thursday morning in a video featuring White House press secretary Josh Earnest, a Kansas City native who attended Pembroke Hill. In a longstanding tradition, the President will honor the reigning World Series champions with a visit and a small ceremony.
In the video, Earnest is wearing a Royals cap and drinking coffee from a Royals mug while filling up a giant jug with water.
“We’re ready for you Salvy,” Earnest said.
